CONGRATULATIONS TEMPLE CONCORD SISTERHOOD

Temple Concord Sisterhood won the Biennial Kol Isha Award from Women of Reform Judaism District 3 for the 2003 Whale of a Sale, an annual fund raising and community Service Program.

The award was given during a November 4th to 7th, 2004, District 3 convention held in Albany. The 2003 Whale of a Sale was the 20th year of the sale. Audrey Elliot was chairwoman of the sale in 2003.

Dozens of Sisterhood women and many other congregation members plus community people participated in putting on the week-long sale where hundreds of people shopped for new and nearly new merchandise.

The Kol Isha Awards were established to honor those Sisterhoods that successfully implemented projects or programs which had a measurable or special impact on the Sisterhood, congregation or community.

Award categories are programming, membership, spirituality, social action, fundraising and Women of Reform Judaism projects. Temple Concord Sisterhood’s award was for fundraising.
