The Religious School program is considered exciting, creative, inspirational and fun. The K-7th Grade children attend school on Saturday mornings followed by a family Shabbat service. The High School Kollel and Confirmation program is held on weekday evenings for students in eight through tenth grade. There are also seminars for post-Confirmation students. Students from third through seventh grade attend Hebrew School on Tuesdays and Thursdays as they prepare for Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
Adult
Adults have many opportunities to study together. Torah study is on Saturday mornings, led by Rabbi David Katz. It is open to all regardless of previous knowledge or previous attendance. Together, students try to find personal meaning in the ancient stories of our ancestors. The goal is to read the Tanach cover to cover. Every two years the Temple has a Scholar-in-Residence weekend. Past scholars have included:
Professor Judith Baskin Dr. Eugene Borowitz Rabbi Michael Chernick, Ph.D. Max I. Dimont Rabbi Arthur Hertzberg Professor Stephen Katz Rabbi Leonard S. Kravitz Dr. Kerry Olitzky Dr. Harry M. Orlinsky Rabbi W. Gunther Plaut Rabbi David Saperstain Dr. Trude Weiss-Rosmarin Prof. Lawrence H. Schiffman Dr. Robert O. Freedman David M. Gitlitz Linda Kay Davidson
